Role Summary:

The Composite Assembly Technician performs mechanical assembly on composite components needed to construct build to order parts for multiple industries while following build specifications in a safe and organized work area.

At Sunrise Fiberglass, a Composite Assembly Technician performs multiple types of mechanical assembly on composite components needed to construct build to order parts for multiple industries. Rarely are two days the same here at Sunrise, one day you may be assembling a customer specified part for firetruck, the next a light rail car.  All within a safe and organized work area with a family-like atmosphere.


  • Execute daily production schedule.
  • Selects, aligns, and secures holding fixtures, attachments, accessories, and materials as required.
  • Assemble and install all post lamination hardware to product in accordance to customer specifications
  • Verifies conformance of finished work piece to specifications
  • Record required activities in computer system


  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • Stable work history with verifiable work references
  • American Composites Manufactures Association (ACMA) Technician Certification or equivalent preferred
  • Familiarity with International Standards Organization (ISO) lamination standards
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification or equivalent preferred with demonstrated proficiency utilizing lean problem solving, engineering tools and methods in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to read & understand work instructions, part prints, & quality control equipment.
  • Able to maintain a clean work environment, proper cleaning of equipment.
  • Safely store and stage any hazardous materials at the end of each shift
  • Ability to work in a team setting
    Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Able to perform functions necessary prior to painting operations. (Sanding, Patching, Masking, And Taping)
  • Ability to properly utilize small tools, operating air/hand tools, saws, drills and grinders
  • Ability to work in the United States
  • Ability to pass pre-employment & random drug testing
  • Able to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment {PPE}. (Respirator, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective coveralls.)

Additional comments

A strong attention to detail and passion for working with your hands is a must. Being able to lift 50 pounds and have the ability and agility to move while performing tasks is key. Work select overtime is required from time-to-time.
